Financial Wellness Education for the Butler Community

Elements has launched FinancialEdu, a new financial literacy training program for students of Butler that provides them with foundational knowledge on topics such as student loans, credit cards, budgeting, and saving. This program is just one piece of an overall suite of financial wellness offerings provided by Elements to the Butler community as part of a robust partnership that began in 2016.

Butler faculty, staff, and alumni can also benefit by accessing the online Financial Learning Center from Elements at their personalized website. Just contact your relationship manager Eliza Claborn at eclaborn@elements.org for details. This free site offers financial wellness learning modules as well as access to workshops and webinars provided by the experts of Elements.

  1. 1 Butler University Rewards Visa Credit Card Cash Back: 1% cash back on every eligible purchase. No enrollment required. All cardholders are eligible when they make their first eligible purchase. Eligible purchases are net purchases (reduced by merchant returns and adjustments). Purchases do not include cash advances, balance card transfers, use of convenience checks and are exclusive of any fees and finance charges we impose. Cash back rewards are payable to you by reducing your credit card balance. However, rewards will not reduce the monthly payment amount unless the total credit card balance is less than the payable cash back reward amount. The rewards are effective the date you become eligible for the program and are payable as per the billing cycle end-date printed on your statement. Cash back reward amounts less than $25 will not be paid during a billing cycle. Rewards will accumulate and will be payable to you once your reward balance is $25 or more. If a reward balance is less than $25, it will expire 5 years from the month earned. Eligibility is restricted to accounts that are open and in good standing. Any accumulated points will be forfeited if the account is closed before the next $25 increment is paid. Additional terms and conditions may apply. 
  2. 2 Credit Card Related $200 Cash Bonus Value Offer — requiring at least 10 card purchase transactions totaling at least net $1,000 within 90 days of card approval — will be fulfilled as a one-time $200 statement credit. Statement credit will not reduce your monthly payment. If the account is closed within six months, we reserve the right to add the amount of the statement credit back to your account balance at that time. Secured Credit Card excluded.   3. 3 Butler University Rewards Visa Introductory APR (Annual Percentage Rate) good for six months. Elements Financial loans are not eligible for payoff with introductory balance transfer offers. After introductory period your Standard variable APR for Purchases and Balance Transfers will be 17.99% for Butler University Rewards Visa.   4. 4 Butler University Rewards Visa Credit Card Transaction Fees — Credit Card Balance Transfer: None. Credit Card Cash Advance: Up to 3% for each Cash Advance or a minimum of $5.00.
  5. 5 High Interest Checking Account (Standard HINT) pays dividends using blended rate tiers meaning the stated dividend rate will be paid on the portion of the balance for each tier. The Annual Percentage Yield (APY) for Tier 1 is 2.00% on balances up to $20,000.00 and the **Tier 2 APY ranges from 2.00% to 0.86% on balances from $20,000.01 to $50,000.00. To earn Tier 1 or Tier 2 dividend rates, 15 qualifying transactions must post per statement cycle on the account. The statement cycle includes all transactions posted after the last business day of the prior month through the last business day of the current month. Accounts not meeting the qualifying transaction threshold will earn 0.05% APY. Rates accurate as of April 1, 2024. All rates are variable and may change without notice at any time. Only the following are qualifying transactions: Debit card purchases, checks, bill payments, ATM withdrawals and ACH withdrawals. No other transactions qualify. At least one account holder must be at least 18 years old. Fees may reduce earnings.
