Who is Ashley?
Ashley DeMello is a Business Intelligence Analyst at Elements. She’s been involved in numerous committees and projects around the credit union. Her management describes her as “approachable” and “easy to work with.” Ashley’s top five strengths are Arranger, Learner, Restorative, Positivity, and Relator.
What does Ashley do?
In short, Ashley collects data from different sources and arranges it using visuals such as tables, graphs, etc. to help tell a story. She’s also in charge of collaborating with stakeholders from different departments to understand their data needs. From there, she works with the Data and Analytics team to build reports with all the correct data points.
When did Ashley join Elements?
Ashley joined Elements six years ago after finding an open position on Glassdoor. She noticed tons of positive reviews from employees, so she tried her luck and was hired as a Data Scientist.
Before Elements, Ashley had experience in the finance industry and worked at MISO, a company that manages the power grid within the Midwest. “Very different from credit unions”, she described.
Why does Ashley enjoy working at Elements?
She enjoys working with different departments, strategic and critical thinking through different scenarios, and helping to make people’s jobs a little bit easier. When faced with a task, Ashley leverages her strengths to get it done.
“As an arranger, I like to take all the pieces of a project or request and see how it can be optimized. I guess this could also be a part of my restorative strength, too,” she explains.
Where can we find Ashley?
Outside of Elements, you can find Ashley walking her dog, hanging with friends and family, or catching up on sleep. She also enjoys frequent trips to Chicago and playing tennis.
What are some “fun facts” about Ashley?
- One of Ashley’s greatest achievements is earning her Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
- She once played a three-hour singles tennis match and won! “Please note that this was at the ripe age of 32, my knees are not cut out for all that running,” she laughs.
- Ashley has a five-year-old pup named Penelope (aka Penny). She’s a mutt—part Rottweiler, border collie, Airedale terrier, and hound. Ashley calls Penny her pandemic pup because she got her in 2020 when the world was shut down.
